In my n810, I wrote script restart.sh and created a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications/hildon and linked them with Exec=/location/of/restart.sh. Icon appears in the menu and when clicked does the job for me. However, I'm not sure in n900 as it doesn't have menu like in n810.

I am thinking a good app to make would be one that would add a restart option to menu that appears when you hit the power button. Right now it is only shut down. I doubt this is something Nokia will do for the main distro (although I may be wrong) so a nice simple app may work well.

Warning: rebooting your device 17 times without shutting it down cleanly may cause it to brick!

I am not at all versed in coding (well not since some java back in High School, which is not supported anyway), but I am going to try to make this in python if I can over the next few weeks (I am sure someone who knows how to develop could do it in a couple hours). The coding should be very simple, just getting the actual SDK to do what I am looking for will likely be more of an issue.
Any tips would be appreciated.
