I've been using maemo mapper (and just recently sent Gnuite another small donation), with gpsvisualizer.com I can make graphical profiles directly from the track data.

I am thinking that a Python script to make those .png profiles would be very useful when offline. I use the 770 in areas without network most of the time.

Any other maemo mapper user already done this and willing to share?

Answering my own question...

A script written in ruby to convert gpx tracks to svg graphics. Written by 'steveŽ?

What seems to be the latest port of Ruby for the Nokia 770.

Haven't tried it yet. Since the 770 browser supposedly supports svg-tiny, this should work with minimal editing.
