Can someone Port MOC to the N900? (http://moc.daper.net/)

I want to use the N900 as a music player via ssh and i'd like to use a "gui" instead of mplayer

thx

VLC has a ncurses interface which can be started like this:
Code:
vlc -I ncurses
There is also some old port of MPD on garage.

moc is available via easy debian. I used it for a while. Have you thought about setting up mpd?

hmm- the problem with easy debian is, thats too leaky for me and there's no vlc port for the n900; is there one?

So i'll try MPD -- is there an apt repository?

Probably newest build. I once tried building newer one on scratchbox, but it failed

It isn't on extras. Easiest way is probably to download it from garage and install with dpkg for example.

OK, mpd installed but it cannot open the audio source, even as root

Code:
~$ mpd

problems getting driver info for device defined at line 40
you may not have permissions to the audio device

Try to change audio device. Config file is at least in Arch Linux here:
Code:
/etc/mpd.conf
