Maybe three debs; a desktop-tools one, and one for each WM?
(What a hassle, though.)

well, ICEWM is already functionnal; it only needed a keyboard (easily done but need a keyboard to add the keyboard...) but a way to go back to maemo without rebooting would be icing on the cake.

tools can be added later or can be "stolen" from other WM.

the big selling point of ICEWM is the "Fit to flash" feature. No need to mess with MMC boot and initfs.

By the way, this thread should be moved out of the n810 section as it belong to a "other WMs on the ITs" section

there's no "other WMs on the ITs" section; it was a suggestion.

we are at a point were we need to have a dedicated section for alternative Windows Managers. may be rename the KDE section so it can include your upcoming XFCE, the current ICEWM and KDE.

edit : or create a section "PenguinBait's stuff" LOL

Let's also include the OpenBox window manager which has been available from the DebFarm repository (info here) for some time now. I've been wanting to try it but don't know anything about it so would welcome some discussion of that option as well.

export PATH="/usr/bin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin"

/usr/bin/icewm-session

/usr/local/bin/startmaemo

I'm not 100% sure this is the proper solution, but it does fix the problem for me.
I'm still stuck on this, can't go to maemo when I log out of ICEWM. Anybody got a suggestion so I can try to solve this ?

yup, I installed xKbd in maemo, then using a usb keyboard in ICEWM I modified the menu list to add a link to xkbd.

BUT if you don't have the usb keyboard, maybe you can edit the file from maemo using the nano editor in xterm.

the file to edit for menu links is /home/user/.icewm/menu

it's easy to add even for a linux newbie like me.
