I noticed an option to set the retrieval limit, which I put to 20. However, that does not seem to do anything with regards to even the inbox; it still tries to pull in everything that exists.
As a result, I have literally tens of thousands of messages. To even things out, I have them all archived instead of in the inbox. However, if I so much as glance at the All Mail folder, Modest starts downloading. The headers alone would kill the thing, which is confirmed when Modest eventually crashes having gathered less than a tenth of them.

(On the bright side, I have discovered that if I move a message to All Mail, it is properly "archived"...)
Does that Retrieval limit really not work? Is there a way I can tell Modest not to download from a particular remote folder, while still automatically updating others?
Thanks!
