They are sorted by Availability but it doesnt change anything. It just has their name and their picture next to them. Nothing to say if their on MSN or off MSN.

Presumably if available they are online and else they're not. Try clicking one of them to see the full details.

But it just lists everybody, even if their online or not. Even after I selected availability. Its only when i select the contact it then says (contact offline)

That sounds like a bug. Could you file it at https://bugs.maemo.org/enter_bug.cgi (separate login needed)? The site isn't very user-friendly though, if unsure leave fields empty and someone will get back to you. The most important details are exactly what you did and what happened.

i've the problem with butterfly, that contacs with an address other than @hotmail.com don't have the button "msn chat" to press. also going through conversations -> new IM i can click on those, but no new chat windows will appear. but if they begin to chat with me i can write back, and i can use that conversation to begin to chat with them, too...
(also the problem, that deleted contacs will reappear...)
will try haze right now.

Does anyone else have their msn quite often not connecting (network error)? Mine is like that like close to half of the time.
