Settings, then VOIP and IM accounts, Click new, select skype 
it is integrated into your contacts, and your status is set in the erm, status bar w000p

Go to Settings->My accounts and you'll be able to add your Skype account. Once you added your account, your contacts will be integrated in the phone/contacts applications.

if you start the phone app, and tap for settings, you can choose accounts. There you can choose skype, google talk, jabber, SIP and more =)
