And we wouldn't want that, right?
But this would save you answering the millions requests about colors people want to have...
And what's the downside of having different variations available?

Clogging up the repositories. I know you like to have variations for all the different people and it's fine, but my themes are more like "by me, for me". That sounds strange, I know, but that's the way it is.

Also, this theme is mostly monochromatic ie. also the hilights, so what would the actual benefit? ActiveTextColor is different hue?

Just sayin'

There's some limit set for user to upload stuff to repos? Funny, haven't noticed and heard no-one saying anything like that...

Yes, but it would still create many "duplicate" entries in the repo that takes up space.

Actually one possible workaround for me would be leaving the color variants in -devel...

Or as debian packages.

yes this thinking I like to many variations is difficult .. but I think the black - gray line with the black text isn't so usefull isn't it?

I still don't get it. Are you paying something for the hard drive space @ maemo-repos or why are you so worried about taking few megs of disk space?

And leaving in devel... wouldn't that take the exact same amount on space?

Please post a screenshot or something because I don't understand what are you saying.

Let's say there are are 64 packages in a hypotethical "themes" category. but in reality there are only 8 different themes that have 8 different variants. Wouldn't that be a little excessive?

And if they would be in "desktop" categogy, they would eclipse some other packages with their sheer mass.

That's what I'm trying to say.

Sure, but this is still a matter of principle for me.

It's not like someone could force me into creating color variants. :P
