I'm guessing the cycle is accelerated if the guy is a Nokia fan?

That's the main premise of this topic.
That spin is worthy of Jobs' seal of approval...

As for the "best there is" it depends on what you use the N900 for. If your the "extreme power user" then there really isn't out there that's pocketable and still does what the N900 does. Though there are other devices out there that have similar efforts in getting Ubuntu and what not running (mainly on the Android variety).
