The physical power inlet isnt broken, but it seems to not be taking a charge... Do youll think its possible that i need to change the battery...?

try wigglin it gently and try a different charger.
if the led in the bottom left shows you its secrets at any point, it is probably the microusb port.

if you never get anything, almost anything could be wrong. changing the battery is no easy task to undertake, especially if you dont know if its the problem

GeraldLieteau,

Did you try what I posted for you in the other thread?

Edit:
wolke, I think he still has a n9; not a paperweight...In the thread where he first posted, he mentioned that the n9 had lost battery charge and was not able to boot up...This can be fixed by a flash being initiated...flasher will not start the flash till 11% battery life so at 10% he can plug it out and charge using a wall-plug hence no need to flash...flasher here is used just to provide the charge...

Just trying to get a mental picture of the physical state of the device ATM bud.

What did your friend do with the phone before it stopped working? Did he drop it or was there water damage? Could you please remove the sim tray and open the USB door, inside you should see two white stickers above the torx screws. These are moisture sensitive stickers and If they are any other colour then it has been exposed to water.

If not and there is no signs of any life after (by holding the power button down for 6secs) the phone had been on charge for at least a day, then personally, I would not be so sure yet if flashing will help?

That said though it would not hurt to try a flash still.
