This question comes up so much that I added the answer to the Wiki FAQ:
Application X won't install because it is missing some files.

Thanks. FYI it is definitely the RSS reader. I turned off the desktop/home app and turned off automatic updates and now my N800 is flying. The only catch is the RSS reader is my primary app
