Well, 2 sets of subtraction up then down and currently recovering from the lurgey I'm having trouble taking stock of how many legs I have when walking let alone those wee number things

The wee light idea got me thinking about having one up with the other stuff like cpu and mem usage, battery, connection etc. though in case you have the monitor widget away from your primary desktop.

Oh, I've noticed that when you are done with anything that uses your data connection that it stays open. Is there a way to auto disconnect when done and if there is a (though minuscule) cost of it being active but not used for long periods of time?

hi, I have the program and I can't reset the count. Can anyone explain me how to do it? And I would also like to advise to add a button on the widgets options for a quick reset or monthly reset dates.

thanks.

The thread "Data Plan Monitor: Auto reset and cap warning." with five posts has been merged into this thread.

Why did they use a 32 bit signed integer? Once I used over 2Gb it started giving me negative numbers, then after 4GB it looped back to zero and started counting up again.

I know not everybody uses 5GB in two weeks, but I'm sure plenty of people go over 2GB, especially if they tether.

Menu (upper left corner) -> Settings -> Phone -> Data Counter -> Clear...

It's not PART of the Data Plan Monitor but in the N900's Settings app.

Bug 8746 documents this and there's a simple fix in the comments... I imagine a patch will be available this weekend and the new version pushed out next week.

(Though note I am not a developer on this project and have no basis for this expectation)

Someone know how I can set the widget to GPRS / UMTS only? It is quite useless for me because it displays also the WLAN traffic.

Hehe, seesm gconf cannot handle unsigned integers (I guess it's not really meant for this kind of thing), however it should be possible to cast signed value from gconf to unsigned and have a more sane value for display.

Edit: Didn't read the whole thread before posting, others have pointed this out already...
