True. To most users it is just a Nokia phone with Swipe. The actual OS and so on is irrelevant. It is just a cooler looking and easier going N8, but with slightly degraded camera.
WP will eventually take over, but IMO there is lots of space left in the market for the N9 and future iterations of the platform. Space that WP will never be able to fill. The basic UI, the swipe concept is so simple and so smart that it is future proof.
Time will tell

thankfully i am an australian!!!!
but it doesnt seem to be letting me make the pre-order.. keeps coming up with an error once iv entered me details in....
maybe its not coming yet... (i speculate coz nokia.com.au hasnt notified me of a release date, as i assume they would coz iv signed up for a notification lol)

Did they incorporate X11 into the MeeGo 1.2 for N9? Cannot really find that out easily by searching.
It's one of the things that I believe make it a real Linux device. Being able to ssh into my server and forward X11 is a rather huge criteria for me.
The sad part is already that they have a virtual keyboard on it. For me that sucks bigtime and from my point of view that makes it 'just another phone'. Not a real linux based internet tablet.
Guess I have to secure a stash of N900's if the one I have breaks down.
Anyone here know anything about the X11 support?
