today i saw there is a new version! downloaded it, and voila, there is the "identify" feature.
it works pretty good, but its really intolerant as far as metal and rock goes
it wasnt able to recognize mudvayne-songs, let alone cannibal corpse or cryptopsy.
with mainstream-music however, its working pretty well.

We know, we know. It's not that it's not tolerant of one kind of music or another, it's that it simply doesn't know certain songs. The more popular the song the more likely it is we know it. We're working to expand the catalog a little faster than the current rate (which is somewhere on the order of 250 new songs a day).

It detected covers for most of the songs I have and that surprised me.
