What is the advantage of using this over pidgin as the same protocols seem to be supported here also?

You get integration to firmware with the LED flashing when you get new message aswell as integration with Contacts. And it will free resources that Pidgin takes.

I have installed it and I like it very much, the flashing LED is great. And I think I will love my contact list if I put some time to organazie it and add my ICQ and MSN contacts.

Maybe I just misunderstood, but is the dropdown for the account service setup supposed to be prepopulated with the newly supported chat services? If so, then I've got a bug report to file b/c I've only got the same old ones as before the upgrade.

-edit- durr ... never mind ... next time I'll read ALL of the instructions

Ok...I AM stupid. I just tried this. Freakin' awesome!

They both use the same connection library, libpurple. The advantage is that it's integrated into your tablet and not in a separate program.

very true , but not being able to be invisible makes it totally useless to me.
