maxximuscool's SIM does not require a PIN (no PIN request dialog shown when booting Maemo in the video). AFAIK, pin entry is still not available (check http://qa-reports.meego.com) in Meego.

So, you might want to try removing the PIN from your SIM (or, waiting until bug 13015 is fixed.

(I have only tried Meego 1.1 image on my N900, and I don't think I had any GSM/3G connectivity, and my SIM requires a PIN. I will try later with a roaming SIM that doesn't require a PIN, and see if it is any better)

All "joking" aside guys. The personal digs and insults should stop right here. You may not like a person and that is yor decision and preference but bullying in any form is against the forum rules and you older bolder members should know that. If you don't want to interact with any member on here just add them to your ignore list. The tags in this thread need to be addressed by a moderator.
Im not in anyones corner here by any means but just don't like this sort of thing even if the person in question gives as good as he gets, he should also abide by the rules.
My 2 cent rambling over.

And it all started because i think the way MeeGo is being handled/hacked FOR THE N900 is not getting anywhere fast.

Some nasty people on this forum and yes you are so right it DOES need to stop.

As for the tags... absolutely childish and pathetic best just ignored.

i invite you to re-read this thread and discover who actually started the insults (by ranting about carsten, f2thak and this community in general).

a certain person, who has no skills with which to contribute and no idea about the underlying process (the Meego Release roadmap and open development), although it's been communicated over a year ago, has nothing better to do than drag this thread down to what it has become now.

IMO, this is endemic to talk.maemo.org nowadays. i think it's actually his "mission" to undermine any objective discussion before it even begins. this thread is a perfect example of that. and it's a reason i don't enjoy coming here as much as i used to.

instead of discussing the latest meego release (which i was looking forward to), we're now once again discussing personal insults. and all just because of ONE community "member".
this is pathetic.

i can understand stskeeps and everyone else perfectly that they don't want to participate in this thread. i don't want to either, but i feel that this has to be said.

I wonder what the chances of Intel putting together an os of any kind for the N900, especially MeeGo.

Would put an end to the suffering thats for sure.

Oh incidently to everyone that has been critical of me please realise one thing here... i strive and want the same as everyone else, ie a fully workable os for our dearest N900, so while your all arguing and being totally out of order just remember we all want the same thing at the end of the day.

As for Stskeeps, his comments are also very childish and i will repeat what i said erlier on and that is if he is not able to take critisism then he should step aside for a more radical approach from a better person for the job.

Time is running out for the N900 as it is only a matter of a few month when newer more up to date devices hit the market leaving us N900 owners in the past !! consider that while you argue ok.

This is absolutely the correct version of what happened, as anyone who reads the thread accurately can see.

No one has the right to insult people, calling them nobodies or stupid. Putting the insulter on ignore doesn't stop the effects.

I invite anyone to scan my comments and find any insults in them.

To pretend that one can be even handed as if we all caused the thread to deteriorate is to live in a fantasy world. One person started throwing lots of rocks and others eventually responded.

Unfortunately, I believe that you are the only one that construes your criticism as constructive. To everyone else it is "pointed" and purely your own opinion about something that you have demonstrated you know nothing about. Here is some real constructive critism, "please do not insult people that are working to help you realize your "goal". If you can, offer them help or remain silent....for the sake of all of us". Have a nice day=)
