I'm learning about this fantastic new machine I got.

I find that sometimes, when I take the cover off, the device is on and is displaying the Home application. The problem is that I powered it down before putting the cover on, and expected it to stay off.

The way I see it is that, if I wanted it on, I would have pushed the power button, and it has no business turning itself on without my permission.

What is the secret to turning this thing off (so that it remains off)?

Does that mean this is a known defect and there is no solution?
