Just wanted to share this information about Meego progress...

The N900 is the Latest Geeks Flag-ship device from Nokia, the Device Started with Maemo 5 and released to the markets on Early 2010, then the Device Got the MeeGo 1.1 Update on October,2010. The N900 Got the Developer Edition of the New MeeGo 1.2 on 28, April (Screenshot Below). it was Great even thought some bugs!

I have Some Good NEWS Today, After the Developers Edition - The Final Release of the MeeGo 1.2 for USERS will be Released During this Week. A Document in MeeGo Wiki roadmap shows that the MeeGo 1.2 Release Date is 19,May and thats mean it will be Ready for the N900 Users to Upgrade their devices on 19-25, May.

Nokia and Intel Teams promises big improvements on the MeeGo operating system itself Performance, Reliability and User Interface too on the upcoming Version of MeeGo (MeeGo 1.2.0.0). Here is some Screenshots leaked from Prototype device running earlier version of the MeeGo OS (e.g. v1.1.9X).

Cant wait, what more will meego? run games and stuff faster?

I am thinking this may be false hope - I thought we were getting "DE" version only...

[Edit] I am guessing the full release version may be there, but will NOT be for the N900.

Hopefully it'll be as good as Maemo!

PS: The article has some pretty poor grammar and plenty of mistakes.

What will be the features?
Dalvik?
Flash 1.2?
OVI-Maps with speech?

well we will just have to wait and see..won't we? I for one am excited..i tried out the DE version though response wasn't as good as i expected.. but hopefully we will get a chance to run it off the emmc..

I have the impression the source does not know what it is talking about.

We know Meego 1.2 is going to be released about now.

We know there is a Meego Developer edition being worked on to make it useful on the N900.

So this probably means that both distributions will be released within the end of the month... but the interesting one for the N900 is the DE one.

Meego is meant to be developed in the open, it would not be a good sign if an unheard of release would pop out from nowhere.
