Does not stand a sporting chance against the 8W (!) 300B tube mono amplifiers that power my toilets.

May be I can make 2-3 designs that suite your best preferences.

I attached a basic design image to describe the idea.
If you send me an STL I'd give it a try. You could also post a file up on the thingaverse.

Oh yeah...... I like it!

may be a good idea, to make it so that it "squeezes" the n900 in the middle so that it doesnt slide out of position, also, i would have some sort of rubber "gasket" where the bells of the horns touch the n900.

this will provide better "squeezing" and secure the device from slipage.

i love new ideas, and, btw, i have seen worse ideas for the iphoney. so this is not out of line. especially being made out of plastic.

oh, another idea, is to make the holding bar, if that is what you can call it, that could possibly squeeze the n900 to hold it, make the horns swivel and removable for better packaging and directional sound.

I'd suggest that you keep it simple initially, and prove the idea. Yo can make refinements after.

I forgot to mention... I have 2 FDM 3D printers and I am eager to give this a try.

Thanks, will make sure the geometry is right and the thin wall et. al. and will submit an STL, may be in 2 days.

@ceroberts75 in the one I am working on has a kind of holding, thanks.

Don't make the walls too thin, .75 mm or thicker, 1 to 1.5 should be good.

Cheers!

I am trying to find the right info for the horn geometry, as this project is the coolest I have seen since quite a while. Not sure if I find the right source, but here is an interesting page with a very concise explanation why this project makes absolute sense: http://invalid.ed.unit.no/~dunker/why.html

There is one thing, though, that needs some looking into at a later point in time, and that is the low frequencies of the sound, which tend to be underrepresented in horn-shaped loudspeakers in general. My 'toilets' make up for this with an active subwoofer part.
