We will see. Nokias top managment can always change their mind. But on a national level. I'm guess this is the date.

On a side-note, why do all the major phone OS's nowadays (including the N9 apparently) have just a huge grid-list of installed apps? I use catorise on my N900 and I could seriously never go back. Browsing all those icons is so unnecessary and time consuming.

wasn’t the n9 supposed to come with a micro-sim module? but on this hands-on picture from slashgear you can see it is a normal sized sim-card.

From comments:

Yes, sorry, should've flagged that up. Nokia had a few different prototypes - some using mini SIMs and some using micro SIMs. The commercial N9 will use a micro SIM.

After reading some Northeuropean media and what Nokia says here I realise this: MrFlops strategy will not work in Northeuropean

Meego will still be supported by Nokia here

So **** MrFlop's FUD

Yeah files would have been better, though at least you get search.

I have wondered this myself before. Both IOS and Android are proud of the system search and talk about it likes it's a big thing, but on my GS, iphone 4 and ipad 2 i have never used it. Do some people actually use that search to get to certain app or bookmark?

I think you are going really light on him. Isn't it a more harsh punishment to force him to use a WP7 phone the rest of his life. Even better yet, have him read the entire EPIC N9 anticipation thread every day using the WP7 phone.

Here in Finland i see N9 eating up WP version easily.

N900 was huge seller here so people are a bit more familiar with Maemo and maybe quite a bit of people that don't connect linux to something negative.
Used Windows Phones in other hand are going for silly low prices and many services are not available here yet for WP. In general they are not getting anything sold, though i think they will sell quite good here once the Nokia sticker is in place.

Seeing that WP might not be here on a first wave Nokia also knows this.
