Dear all,

recently there was an update to OVI store client for Symbian^3 devices that now allow me to update apps downloaded from OVI store. Unfortunately it looks that Maemo 5 do not have that functionality. I'm trying to update the app called E-Navigator (nice reference to food additives). I've read somewhere that there is a manual way to update apps from OVI store, but cannot find it anymore. Can anyone help me, please? Thank you in advance

Isn't the ovi-store just a repository? You should be able to update them with the package manager.

Unfortunately it doesn't show any update, while I know that there is one

The commercial apps don't actually appear in the catalogue, so there's no update notification (and, unless they've updated the store, the version number isn't actually shown at all so there's no way to tell whether there's an update anyway). The only way I've found to update is to re-download the .deb file from the OVI store and install it manually.

How do you download the .deb file from OVI store?

do you mean you really can get the original deb file? If I login in OVI store the only thing I can see is: send to mobile, or send to friend. There is no link download. There is another way to download files in OVI, but it works only for Symbian

Ovi store detects the browser. So you have to use MicroB or change the user agent.
