I seem to be having a problem syncing. I noticed it a couple of days ago, when my calendar items were only syncing from my device to the outlook, but not when I added an item on my outlook to the device.

Thinking it was an error on my device, I thought I would delete all the data on it and reload it all from scratch with pc suite.

I deleted all my contacts, then connected via usb to make the transfer faster, but it would only delete and add a couple of repeat calendar items and no contacts.

To trouble shoot, I have tried the following:

-Deleted and recreated the connection with my pc, tried to sync, nothing. Reads both sides and says complete, but doesn’t add the data.
-rebooted both devices
-checked the settings on the pc suite and made sure all the boxes are checked, and that it was marked as “delete all data on the device and replace with outlook”
-rebooted devices again.
-reinstalled the bt drivers to try that way, nothing.
-when it starts to read the phone, it seems to be reading a lot of data that is not there…like it is a shadow copy of something. So there are no errors, just shows sync is complete. :/

Any ideas to get this to sync my data back to my phone? Currently there is no calendar or contacts on my phone! OUCH!

my guess is data coruption with the device as even when i try to sync both directions, it does not delete from my outlook what is not there on my device.

if there is a way to rebuild the .db files for contacts and calendar on my device to reset that only and then enable the syncing again through xterm, that would be great!

any help is appreciated.

Friend,

You haven't been using Nokia Ovi Suite/PC Suite for synching while you have enabled synching via Mail for Exchange, have you?

the one thing i have not done, i am doing now is, i am currently trying to sync all the data to another phone that is cleanly flashed.

also, i am restoring the communications and calendar from one of my backups on the device i use in hopes that after that, it will replace the db file and then allow me to replace all the data on the device.

i will report back if either it is the device, proven by syncing data to another one, or if there is something wrong on my pc.
