No text rending tool in mypaint. You should however be able to import a png file with text and then use layer to work on background/foreground.
Though I not sure what app you would use on the n900 to make an png without a background.

Haven't looked to hard yet, but thought I'd try here first.
Did anyone notice the missing the watch cursor when saving in mypaint? Does anyone know how to bring back? Not the biggest thing , but would be nice feed back when in fullscreen mode.

Sorry, I meant cursor. And mypaint used to show a watch (on desktops it's could hourglass or beach ball..etc) when saving or processing something as I recall.

There are reasons why it is on extras-devel!
*Drawing is not working very well with pressure maps from mypaint-0.8.2. When starting new stroke it is attached to the end of the latest stroke. This can be avoided if stylus is used very gently. This is part I need help.
*Upgrading can break your own brush/settings/scraps.
I'm not really good at drawing but I feel like I've found a new talent with this app, though I'm still on kindergarten level. hehehe

I think only (porting) issue is some non working dialogs (sliders) relating brush making/tuning, reported by Tone. Reason for these are: Maemo has so old GTK (years older than MyPaint officially needs). Fixing these are hard and frustrating. I'm not sure is CSSU (http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU) using or planning newer GTK.

N900 Mypaint scale = -1 to 1 = "very limited dynamic range
DESKTOP MyPaint scale is -7 to 7
it seems that all RADIUS related things uses this -7 to 7 range.

DESKTOP = -2 to 2
Jitter:
N900 = -1 to 1
DESKTOP = -2 to 2
Offset by Speed:
N900 = -1 to 1
DESKTOP = -6 to 6
Slow Tracking per dab:
N900 = -1 to 1
DESKTOP = -10 to 10
etc.....
Can somebody confirm that?
So it is not just me and my N900.
