Hi there,

following procedure on MeeGo:
Screen is locked -> press power button -> Lockscreen appears -> pressing it again -> display off

on Maemo:
Screen is locked -> press power button -> Lockscreen appears -> pressing it again -> Lockscreen...

it would be great if someone could realize the Meego behavior for Maemo. This is better for checking time and slide the phone back into a bag without the chance to accidentally disable the lockscreen.

i hope you understand my problem

yeah would be safer for me. Got my N900 in a bag, slide it out ( not completely) press ne power button, check the time, now i have to wait that the display shut off. if i dont do this ( happens over 10 times in the past) the lockscreen could accidentaly disabled by sliding the n900 back into the bag.

No need to wait since there is a lockbutton on the side...

I get what you're saying, although I've never known the onscreen slide-to-unlock to be accidentally activated when putting my phone into a pocket or bag, so never had to wait for the screen to turn off after checking the time.

For a while now, pressing the power button won't show the lockscreen the first time I press it and the second time I press it espeaktime is activated,
so I always just slide lockbutton on the side when I'm trying to be quiet.

I know it's not really helpful but it's been a while since I last posted something here.

Lockscreen is a closed component. So...NO.
