Hi,
I'm able to use sixaxis on N900 nearly without a problem, I even added support for thumbstick buttons that were not included on default. However, I can't get to work the left and right thumbstick itself. I'd like to use left thumbstick as arrow keys, or eventually WSAD and the right thumbstick as a mouse in FPP games. Is that even possible? The right thumbstick is working, cause when I use it, I can hear the click like when I touch the touchscreen.. but I can't remap it in any application.

Please help!

PS. Tomasz Sterna (I believe he is the one who is "responsible" for getting sixaxis to work on N900 told me to ask here)..

You can map joystick buttons to keyboard buttons and analog axes to mouse movements and scrolls.
There is no way of mapping analog axes to keyboard buttons, as axes are analog not digital - you don't know where is the "on" state.

But FPS shooters usually support controls by joystick. Why don't you just setup the game to use the joystick device, leaving the keyboard events emulation alone?

the "on" state could be used as soon as the thumbstick leaves the deadzone. simple workaround

well if you say that analog axe emulate mouse movements.. then why it doesn't work in game, where looking around is set on default as mouse? quake 3, open arena. nothing works..

i'll try the joystick setup, but i doubt it will work.

XOrg joystick driver does indeed support this.

My crystal ball is currently under maintenance.

Start any app showing the mouse cursor and try there. I was using ScummVM for testing.

sorry, i didn't mean to be inpolite.

i just installed scummvm and indeed the mouse is working there with the left thumbstick. this lead me to thinking that maybe mouse emulation in ioquake has been removed and replaced with touchscreen/accelometer?

either way, great job bringing sixaxis to our n900. this is something i've been missing on smartphones generally.
