So, lets think this way, with 15k $, what can we do?

I cant comment on real numbers of active members because i dont know, neither do i know if not being reguarly active means someone would not donate 10 dollars, or whether alot of people are active but dont post.

50k is nothing to raise given the userbase here.

Well, if thoughts do really count, I would've been a millionaire now, sitting on my exotic golden toilet, crapping the world's goldest crap, cleaning my crap with golden dollar bills. I thought a lot, but FAILOP is a one creepy obstacle in the path of empowering open source software...

I'd rather believe anything is possible - POSSIBLE.

There are no guarantees, but if you start out thinking YOU CANT, then it definitely wont happen!

For an open source 'project', I think this thread is doing it s-backward.

It's turning into an investment round to fund the core development and there are even people who are already jockeying for a job in this new venture.

That's why I've suggested to raise money for self-funding, and think of anything else if we have something left after. Also, I say 15k dollars is quite optimistic, 50k is fantasy.

In a word? No. $1500 is optimistic. $15k is fantasy.

This is Maemo.org and the right place for development of Maemo, if it can not happen on here then it will not happen anywhere else.

I have tried in vain to get something moving and as serious as i am there are just far too many naysayers and people who just want to make probems on this forum, nothing happens or moves forward.

Someone needs to have a serious talk with Reggie about this but i very much doubt anything will come of it because whilst there is Meego going on you will get everyone from there saying meego is the way to go and to forget about Maemo.

Talk to Nokia direct and see what can be done because without there approval there is NO chance of Maemo development.

The question was asked and people answered... Call it Naysaying if you like... why should I pay for it again?

I would donate a lot more than $10 if we can find a way to get serious with this and to make n900 even better in the near future!
