<SNIP> I say that's about the price I paid for my first N900, but comparing that to an SGSII for instance, pay some more 20 bucks and you get a 64GB, dual-core... device.

Prolly a good idea to have a dedicated thread like this.
The main one is populated with countless other discussion points.
64GB? SGSII doesn't have 64GB. It has 16GB + the potential for 32GB+ more.
I read some Malaysian dudes saying the best SGSII street prices are slightly more than then N9 64GB's RRP.
As it's a RRP, the street price is bound to be way less... eventually.
Of course RRP in other countries is nowhere near as good as Malaysia's
Nokia being consistent in their inconsistency again.

Its not inconsistency... its economics. Most of the manufacturers use this policy pricing are based on the serving areas. For eg. Dr Martin in UK costs you 129 pounds and same in US costs you $109 , its all based on how much they can get out of it..

will be 1799 RM for the 16GB unit, and 2088 more sophisticated 64GB unit, which is equal to 584/678 USD currently.
