I tend to think that there is a misunderstanding between us. I'll give You a few screenshots. Is that a result, you are achieving with your procedure?

Yes alfred thats exactly what i got! before i couldnt do this. btw pics are hot and so is she! now only if MAG and CSSU team can sort us out with two separate pics on same screen so we can have portrait pic and landscape pic same but 480 x 800 for portrait and 800 x 480 of same pic so we can see pic correct way up on both orientations! so when you rotate the desktop the pic rotates and you get correct pic in both directions!
i hope this solves our misunderstandings!

But still try and messing around i have finally found a way to set 480x800 images
It would be best to start with photos of greater than 800*1333, and crop and rotate.

for desktop in portrait straight from our n900 all you have to do is have a portrait image 480x800 go to image viewer go to that image turn your phone 90 degrees clockwise so the image rotates and fills the full screen then open keyboard and take a screenshot by pressing ctrl+shift+p at same time once you have this screenshot go to the image in image viewer click on pull down menu and select option set as desktop image!
You can also just choose edit, and crop and rotate in the image editor, or crop, edit, rotate.

If some how cssu team can reenable two separate images for a screen one for portrait and one for landscape this would be amazing!
Yep, that would be nice. I'm wondering if I should have portrait backgrounds on some screens, and landscape ones on others.
