You forgot about the 9 (i think) for the MeeGo Coding Competition. Those crazy Swedes will have to miss out.

Why do they need testers, anyway? It's Nokia. The customers are the testers.

I dont think this is true. N9 is more mainstream and even with N900 they met 100 000 unit sold after 5 weeks.

92.000 units is very little. Hope it isn't true. It is very difficult to develop commercial applications that specifically target the N9 with that amount of units.
So most commercial applications will probably be Symbian optimized, compiled for N9.

It also makes it very difficult for Nokia to really push the N9 as a development platform to small third-party developers. It is very costly for Nokia (since the sale of only 92.000 units need to cover the cost), and it is very doubtful if the third party developers will see a good return on investment.

I think Nokia realizes that and only wants a select few big third party developers making well known "killer apps", like Angry birds, and Skype. And isn't really interested in small third-party developers.

I have developed a port of an iOS game for maemo, and would like to make a N9 port. I applied for the N9 dev kit program, but didn't even get a reply (but I'm not a launchpad member, so maybe that is why, don't know ). Then I applied for the Developer Launchpad program in the hope that would provide a way of getting a dev kit. It has been weeks now, and my membership application still hasn't been reviewed yet.
I don't know what to think about all this. And since I don't live in any of the scheduled release countries, I'm very curious how difficult it will be to get an N9 here in the Netherlands.

I think it is a shame, because it would mean that a port will either be late, or not be released at all.

Why does anyone pay any credence to what this guy says.
He was claiming that no. for the N950 not so long ago, now he's switched it to the N9.
Don't you think that's weird....

There was a time when I followed his musings, but after following for a period...
I came to realise that most of the stuff he was stating as fact, turned-out to be poo.

Today got a very bad news...As Nokia mentioned before when N9 announned, it will be sold in Hong Kong. Nokia HK Offical homepage also mentioned it will be coming sell.

But Today fxcking Nokia HK said it will not be sold anymore without any offical news!! Then deleted the n9 phone in their homepage! They just escaped our HK people asking, wont reply , I am totally disappointed. How come they can do this in that way? They also said n9 will be coming sold in their offical facebook, now? Just escaped ! I really dont know what fuxk they are thinking!

Bernard your posts speaks volumes as it is sad to read that keen developers are just not being treated in a good way at all, more so why the many are now reporting meego as dead.

Meego started with good intentions but failed to make an impression with many companies and the reason why the developers pulled out and moved ship.
A few mainstream games and apps will not be enough to fulfill customers needs and once again we will have a situation like Maemo but this time it is happening before everyones eyes and will be even worse than the situation with Maemo, and they are still so crazy about this N9, dumbfounds me.

The more information like yours that creeps out the woodwork puts together a clear picture of not only now but the future of meego and the N9, not good.

Am sorry to see a would be developer treated the way you are being treated.

This is down to mr wonderful Elop as he has ruined many dreams now with meego and that number of 92000 seems to now look logical by the information your reporting.

Many people are going to be dissapointed i tell you.

Quick!
Latch onto to someone else to fortify your own inability to form a coherent argument.
Once again...
