Hello,

I had MAFW equalizer installed, but it wasn't exactly what i expected it to be. so i did : apt-get remove mafw*, to remove the equalizer. but it also deleted the basic mediaplayer.

i tried apt-get install mafw*, but apparantly its not the correct line to install the basic mediaplayer again.

anyone can tell me what the correct command is?

I did "sudo apt-get remove -s mafw*" and got this list: (-s stands for simulate)

 libmafw-shared0 libmafw0 mafw-dbus-daemon
  mafw-gst-renderer mafw-gst-subtitles-applet mafw-gst-subtitles-renderer
  mafw-iradio-source mafw-iradio-source-bookmarks-default mafw-lastfm
  mafw-playlist-daemon mafw-tracker-source mafw-upnp-source mediaplayer
  mediaplayer-restore mediaplayerhomeapplet
IIRC mafw-gst-subtitles-renderer, mafw-gst-subtitles-applet and mafw-lastfm are optional packages from extras that may not be needed

is the subtitle renderer & applet the program that lets you insert subtitles in a movie? cuz otherwise i probably don't need it? or is it installed with apt-get install mediaplayer?

apt-get install mediaplayer should install all its dependencies (i.e. the other things is needs to function at all), and in fact the output of that command should have showed you what other things it was installing.
