I used a q-tip and the smallest bit of nail polish remover and just went around the edge of it over and over a few times and it slid right off.

Hmmm. Interesting. Is there remant of the adhesive or a ring? I wonder how the nail polish remover effects the surface...

No it came off clean as can be, I used very little nail polish remover just enough to get the glue loose, not much glue was used on the button/sticker luckily on mine, zero effect on the finish of the phone.

ok I'm flashing and i'm at the step where you have to shut your phone off and then connect it to the computer, i shut it off and connected it and little charge logo is showing up but the phone isn't booting up, any ideas?

I hit the power up button and sync and connect came up but i was unable to highlight it before it shut off, I have over half charge on the phone.

Just to play it safe, what brand nail polish remover did you use? Not sure if they are all the same.

Ok I had to connect and disconnect my phone like 8 times before the flasher recognized it but it finally did and the flashing did get rid of the starhub branding.

The nail polish remover I used was some generic cvs drugstore brand, don't use much a little goes a long way.

Thank you devilsown. I'm flashing my device right now. I followed your instructions step by step. I have a 64GB black device "made in Finland". I could not find my model listed in the Navifirm program. I downloaded the Italian flash image of 64GB black device. Let's hope all goes well.

I wanted to let you know that when I connected my device to the USB of my laptop, I didn't get "the option to use mass storage or sync" that I read in your post under number 14...

lore,

you may have to connect and reconnect and mess with the power button several times before you get that option, sometimes the option will pop up and then it won't let you highlight it, keep trying plug and unplug, be patient eventually the flasher will pick it up.

All went well. But I did not get the option to choose between storage and sync. Also, I lost (or at least some of) my downloads from the Store. I'm still cheking...
Is that because the image I downloaded was not a perfect match with my model number?...

EDIT: I did have to re-install from the Store all the apps I downloaded and purchased before flashing. They were all in my "download history". It was a pain to re-download and install all of them (Motor Academy HD is >300MB).

Also, dev mode is gone. Filebox (re-downloaded) doesn't allow me to use Terminal. So I guess after I'm finished downloading from the store I will have to re-activate dev mode. I downloaded and installed the deb package of syncevolution. I guess I will have to re-install that too...

thanks guys for all the tips, flash the a different firmware and it works, I'm thinking you can probably used a different firmware as long as the same memory and color. Take note before doing and downloading those things, just turn off your antivirus first, used to root a lot of androids and iPhones before, those were easy, but this one is a piece of cake=) make sure to read the help folder on the flasher you downloaded before starting flashing the firmware itself. I did this within 5 mins=) Again, it pays to read all the instructions first before flashing. Thanks and this NOKIA N9 ROCKS...hope they won't abandoned this OS. Great job on Nokia, totally different, like to be different and Awesome.
