To keep stock kernel you should install multiboot-extras package (containing the stock kernel bootimg) and create a multiboot entry in /etc/multiboot.d pointing to /boot/multiboot/vmlinuz-2.6.28-omap1 (there should be one at /etc/multiboot.d/examples)

doing my head in trying to install the latest 0.13 kernel-power-settings. its impossible to install with the dependencies of kernel-power?!
edit: managed to install by ignoring missing dependencies. now everytime i try to install i get missing dependencies of kernel power. Cant do it

yeah thats how i got it installed, but now i cant install anything else!! any apt-get install asks to fix unmet dependencies?

waaittt think its working.
**EDIT** to make it work, install as above with ignore dependencies
then
edit /var/lib/dpkg/status and remove the dependency for kernel-power-settings
