I can't access bank of america through bofa.mobi or through their full website. On bofa.mobi it says that you can't do mobile banking through this phone due to security reasons. The full site doesn't even load so no help for either. If bofa thought my phone was an iPhone or an Android browser using different user agent I'm sure it would work because I changed my user agent on N900 and it loaded the iPhone mobile version of the site without any problems. If anything the N9 has almost as good Html5 rendering as iPhone.

Any suggestions besides calling my bank or using their text services?

Finally someone that shares my grief. I noticed it initially and hoped it would change in PR1.1 but nothing. Does anyone have a clue why?

By the way you can use opera mobile to access your BofA for now. Which is pretty much the only thing I use opera for

I can't believe there's no way to change the user agent in the stock browser, there's got to be a way.
Have you tried Fennec, the latest builds are pretty good...
Oh I believe Opera's got a proper official version of Opera Mobile coming too.
There was a less than ideal one floating around, not sure if the official one's fully baked & in the store yet.

I am in the same boat, call and complain, I have been constantly calling and complaining about this, it is a mistake on their end...

I have been frustrated with BofA for a long time, mint.com doesn't work as it should because of their security. I think this tipped the boat, going to chase next week, plus they are giving me 150$ bonus.

But yeah, if someone could find a way to change the user agent it would be very nice for some other sites I am having problems with.

It would be much easier if the mobile web industry just has a standard string they look for to detect supported browsers rather than just looking for Android/iPhone and nothing else. Their websites will work much better and be a lot more accessible for users with supported devices.
I just got this phone and I'm not in the mood to install unofficial Opera and risk any clutter in the phone.

Good point, there is no good technical reason/s why they can cater for it easily enough.
Even of only a few people are very loud & vocal, they will eventually get the message.
