Is there a way to get rid of the "click" sound of the N9 camera? I need to take some silent shots

Thanks jalyst,

Removal of the snd_camera_shutter.wav file from /usr/share/sounds/ui-tones worked perfectly. Just required a restart before the shutter sound disappear.

Why not just use the phone in silent mode?

I have a MEA phone and the shutter sound is there even in the silent mode.

it is purposefully designed that way to prevent perverts from shooting undetected upskirts.

Not it's not for every region. Depends on your region fw.
Some can enable silent profile, & it mutes the shutter sound.
