trying to import my bookmarks from Firefox as an .html file into the N810. I can not locate the .html file once copied into the n810 using the cable. Any suggestions as to how to locate the file ?

Well, if you used the USB cable, then they should have ended up on one of the removable memory cards.

The USB cable doesn't mount the rootfs.

You might try using a better file manager - I find the builtin FM to be most limited in it's functionality. I've been using emelFM2 It will let you see pretty much everything

thanks, found the alternative file manager, but dont know how to install. also, found my file of bookmarks, but the bookmark application crashes when I try to import the file over to a folder in the application. Any suggestions ?

I suppose I could just leave it in the documents folder and use it from there, but that would not be the way it is intended.

Ok, first - the easiest way to install the file manager is to just navigate (using the web browser on your N810) to the link that I provided in the other post and tap on the version of the deb you want (ie: OS2007 or OS2008). That will automatically open up the Application manager and then viola follow the steps to install

Next, I was just able to import my FireFox bookmarks (I needed to do this anyway). I went into FF and selected Organize Bookmarks, then File->Export ->a file named bookmarks.html

I then transferred this over to my memory card using the USB cable. I opened the web browser -> Manage Bookmarks ->Menu -> Tools -> Import -> navigate to the bookmarks.html file that FireFox had generated. Viola, my FireFox bookmarks show up in a folder called "Imported Bookmarks".

As a side note, I didn't actually want all of my FF bookmarks, so before I transferred the html file to the card, I edited it in text editor to delete the bookmarks I didn't want.

Hope this helps

neither worked for me. I will keep trying. Application Manager did not open up and the import tool keeps crashing the bookmarks. ??? If things dont start to get easier I am not sure I am going to keep the n810 ?
