I modified Bulgarian phonetic layout to my liking in /home/user/.config/meego-keyboard/layouts/ but I still get the original version to show when writing text. What is need in order to reload?

PS. I event removed all files from "layouts" dir, but Bulgarian phonetic still shows. So it is loaded somewhere. I read the whole thread, but couldn't find an answer.

After any changes, you need to remove/reload it in Settings.

@Bundyo
You mean in "Settings"->"Time and language"->"Text input"?
Got it! So now BG VKB is not there but that might be syntax error!
Thank you!

PS. I still can manage to get the modification right - I just want to move "Ш" and "Щ" to the left of the space bar, because coming from N900 it feels more natural to press it right thumb. I just copy the 8 lines between the <key> tags and paste the before space. Than remove the original 8 lines. All that using Vi directly on N9. Save the file. Reload Settings - no Bulgarian. Using diff I see all seems OK. Any ideas?

Hmm, should work the way you describe it. Check if you're using the correct folder.

I must be doing something wrong with "reloading" because I am losing even "original" BG VKB everytime I "reload". To get it back I have to use Mesinput fetcher.
What I call "reloading" - I go to "Settings"->"Time and language"->"Text input" then select different input option(e.g. English US), then exit settings.
What I do:
1. Copy the file to ../
2. "Reload"
3. Copy the file back to layouts dir
4. "Reload"

In result - even with the original file mesinput-layout_240011.xml I can not get second VKB until I do it via Mesinput loader app.
Any ideas?

PS. In the end I just put the edited VKB .xml file in /usr/share/meegotouch/virtual-keyboard/layouts/. Now I just select it as a second input method. Works perfect.

I am still using all af XMLs in layouts folder. just added my 2 next.
All what I am doing when choosing keyboard is to mark another one - marked 2 or even 5 in the settings. keyboard layouts can be easili changed by sliding the keybourd to the right or left - you could turn the SWYPE like that in new PR 1.1 if you had turned it on.

so i just have set Rusnak keyboard, slide it to slovak, go to VI editor, change what i want, go to settings - unmark it, save, mark it, save, go to my app where writing and slide it back from Slovak to Rusnak to see changes.

^Thanks for sharing that here instead of your separate thread.

@OP

This thread should have a more generic title e.g: "Additional keyboard layouts for the N9."
It's referenced in the universal guide (see 1st link in my sig) as the place to get ideas/help for VKB layouts.

Thanks.
