Excellent work @kuzmichov, thanks for sharing.
I've edited your CSS to use the same image in Portrait and Landscape and did one image only of 854x854px.
Here's my background made from a random wallpaper i found online.

This is an excellent development. I plan to use a white background but will need to change the colour of Application names to anything but white to avoid drowning. Ideas anyone?

Hey man, I followed the same instructions but when I type this lines: "/usr/share/themes/blanco/meegotouch/images/backgrounds/" I get a msg of "Permission denied
