it's a messed up thing to do...
I love free stuff, and hacking can be used to gain access to it but at what expense? At a company's expense=FINE...afterall they are already making lots of money and sometimes their service is not even worth the money but the fact that it WILL INVALIDATE a new tablet user from trying out the 7 day trial just disqualifies this option. Put yourself on their shoes... guy got the n810 for the son's bday, son's is all excitd about shwing his friends the GPS capabilites and then BAM....Invalidad license, or trial expired...not only won't NOKIA be able to give them a straight up explanation , the customer will be forever gone and wont be able to rely on nokia's software any longer. In addition, I think NOKIA gave us one of the best products of 2007 with the n810 so let other enjoy the joy of maemo, linux, nokia's osftware and hacking

I don't think this crack works, and the instructions are wrong. Entering sudo gainroot without first installing becomeroot will get you nowhere.
Can You please detail a little more how did you made to istall macchanger
on OS2008 N800 ?
thank you

in Application Manager go to tools -> application catalog
edit the repositories that have 'maemo' in the name. change repository to repostory in the url. this will allow you to install a lot of applications.

Hi,
I change the date (I was born before Apple 48, where 48 was KiloBytes of ram) and the routing capabilyties don't expire...only to find a better method. So do you think is it legal ?

...just hack it and use it. And this is your (and their) challenge: catch us if you think we are breaking the law, then we are willing to pay. Otherwise, they rip others off, they work for us free and so their product. Got it?

No, I do not think so. That's a crappy thing to do.

Maybe some sort of "show and tell" for big boys?

I couldn't agree more with the pirate's side of the argument here. Morals exist to serve humans and help humans get along together. Modern, major corporations are sufficiently abstracted from actual human society that "hurting" them in this small way *absolutely does not* translate into hurting a fellow human.

It (a) hurts the company only, and (b) in such a small way that they can't feel it. Companies do not feel compassion or have morals. They do whatever they can get away with to make money (which is what they're supposed to do.) I treat them the same way.

It does not only hurt the company! By using other macs you cheat other users out of their chance to have a 7 Day trial. (And as soon as Navicore gets wind of this, i guess they'll disable the trial altogether). The current way of "hacking" the trial hurts the whole community!
