I want to get the Nokia N9, but I don't want to leave my N8's 12 MP camera.... what do you guys think N8 or N9.

I've already made up my mind to get rid of the N8 and get the N9. I was just wandering what the Maemo community would do.

Anyways, whoever wants my N8 you can purchase it on ebay through this link (sorry for the bad picture quality, I used a Nokia Prism with a 2MP camera to snap my n8:

I gave my N8 to my girlfriend back in October when I bought my N9. For Chistmas, she also got a N9. Now the N8 is in my mother's hands.

Both of them are great phones, with the N8 having some feature benefit (camera, FM transmitter). But overall experience on the N9 is just worlds better.

i will prefer N9. N8 also has many positive sides. 12mp camera, symbian belle, some cool apps like nokia bubbles, sleeping clock. N9 is great with great design, cool OS. its just totally different from other phones.

N8 best for the camera.
N9 better at everything else.

If you are a photo-maniac, then it would make sense you have a good quality camera (or the N8) with you all the time.
If you are just a layman, the N9's camera is *good enough* so you should upgrade.

But then again if you are a layman, don't get the N9. There's much better offerings from the Android side, where you also get a better operating system, since Harmattan is crippled on the N9 (the N950 is a different story).

What do you mean by crippled? I would like to know because I may buy a N9 in near future.

Im not sure what he means by crippled, but I'm guessing he means lack of support from Nokia???

How is Harmattan more crippled on the N9 than on the N950, given that the software is not designed to be used with the HWKB (even xterm sucks due to scrolling issues when HWKB is open)?

Seeing how you are selling the N8 already i'm not sure why i'am answering.
I would keep the N8. It's still the best camera phone out there and is getting the crucial Belle update in 2 weeks time, making the UI experience 10x better. Neither are you getting much out of N8 selling it as it was hugely popular, more value to keep it to yourself.

Actually thinking myself to buy N8 as the Belle update is nearing closer.

I think the use of the word 'crippled' is not helpful. Kangal probably meant that the N9 operating system is not as accessible as the N950's for 'hacking' - something you would only be interested in if you were a hardcore developer.
