I have read most of the threads that cover these two areas.
I have also bookmarked some of the products mentioned.
But I'm still interested in some final input from you all...

The case that comes with the N9 although not bad, does little to protect the screen.
I've seen others comment that the hard case Nokia sells is better in that regard.
Whilst still allowing the curved surface to be usable...

So which screen/body protectors & cases do you recommend?

I have ordered the skinomi full body shield I know skinomi is of very good quality.

It sounds like putting a Rembrandt in bubble-wrap !

Skinomi, pouch from ebay, good to go. I accidentally dropped my phone a couple times, with skinomi and the case that comes with the phone, no marks, dents, scratches, etc. I was supposed to take a photo of it, got really busy, will take photo tonight for you.

I would like to see that too.. how good it goes on the phone!

Would be nice to see the skinomi on your phone how's the fitting does it all line up well

Nokia Carrying Case CP-571 for Nokia N9, they call it "moleskin". At least I find it practical and rather neat.

I have the Skinomi protector but I'm not very impressed.

Height-wise it's a pretty good fit, could be a millimeter or so longer to cover the whole screen. Width-wise it's around 2 or 3 millimeters short and that's bad. On "normal" phones it wouldn't be that bad -well ok, it looks bad on them as well- but on the N9 it just won't do because of swipe. Hitting the protector's edge feels bad under your finger and seems to even make swiping less effective.

The hole for the light sensor on top of the phone is off by half width. I don't really even understand why there is a hole for it because even now that it's off, it's still working fine. The hole looks ugly, and gathers dirt like all edges.

There's also orange peeling 3 months after applying. On a daily basis I'm thinking of tearing it off but just haven't gotten around it because - are there better protectors available?
