I found this on the garage - https://garage.maemo.org/projects/stock-plugin/ Not sure how good it is as I just got my n800 and am in the process of updating it to OS2008.

Stock plug-in is not working on my 800 with OS2008. It runs as an applet. I get a blank white window on my desktop and a confirmation window in spanish. I tried entering a stock symbol in the confirmation window and the window went away, but I still only have a white blank window on the desktop.

I agree with shaky4... There should already be an applet that shows stock tickers... We have weather applet, stock tick should be a doable project. Again, we non-programmers/developers always ask, but there is little we could do since we don't know how to program.
