Is the student uni gmail account different from the regular one?
Have you used it before? if you havent then they might have different server settings...

I tried clearing the phone, no go. I can add another gmail that I don't use, just not my student one.
I completely flashed the phone and receive the same error. "unknown error. try again later"
would it have to do with the fact that I need to enter in my complete email address for the username, not just the usual username for gmail? A string length error? my username is 28 chars and password 13 chars
In syslog I get the error:
AccountSetup/bin/googleplugin[1792]: aegis_crypto.cpp(1968): ERROR aegis_crypto_decrypt too long buffer 4064 (max 4050)
anyone got any ideas?
