How feasible would it be to get espeak to read tweets out of ttytter, witter or the like? Or irssi for that matter? It would be useful to have my N900 read tweets or an IRC channel to a headset while eg; downtime travelling.

But unless there's an easy way to pipe the output of a terminal app like irssi to espeak at runtime, I wouldn't know where to begin. It might make a good beginner's project though.

I might look for a Python library for Twitter; that way you can just say os.system("espeak '"+tweet+"'"). IRC might be a bit more complicated.
