few days ago when i connected my n900, on a windows machine( as am using Ubuntu). it gave me a maasge that the disk( which i named my internal memory as C4RL05) has got some error. so it recommended me to scan and fix for errors which i did, bt it continued to gave me the same error on reconncting it, xo i decided to format my 27gb partition using ubuntu which was few days ago. but today am wondering whenever i try to delete anything reside in my internal memory the file manager gave me an error that, Can not delete 'filename.extension OR directory', 'filename.extension OR directory' is a Read-Only file system. i tried to change permission of stuffs using the chmod command on xterminal but the same error came out. But when i use my pc to delete stuffs the operation goes wel, the problem comes whe i use n900 filemanager.
Anyone to help me please

@c4rl05,

How did you format the partition under Ubuntu? Hopefully as VFAT (FAT32).

If you for some reason formatted it as ext2/3/4 then you know the reason for your problems. Namely the files are most probably owned by your Ubuntu userid, not by N900 anymore.

Please run, as root on your N900: sfdisk -l (<- that's a lowercase L).
and post the results here.

go to terminal run these commands:

root
unmount /dev/mmcblk0p1
fsck.vfat -aw /dev/mmcblk0p1
reboot

and your memory will be fine now.
