<mpoirier> I hosted it there to get help from someone who knows about packaging a kernel with debian packages.
<mpoirier> fakeroot debian/rules n900
<mpoirier> otherwise compiling will work, but not the debian packaging.
<int_ua> it said "make: *** No rule to make target `n900'. Stop."
<mpoirier> you can still use that kernel.
<mpoirier> you simply can't debian package it.
mpoirier> it would be great to have people picking up that work.
<mpoirier> although, it mostly comes from the meego people.
<mpoirier> and fixing the debian packaging shouldn't be an issue for someone acquainted with the process.

A line from https://wiki.linaro.org/Resources/Ho...YourOwnKernel: "imagine that you want to have a kernel package that is based on an upstream vanilla Linus" =D
What IRC channel do you prefer? Let's try #linaro
for someone acquainted with the process

If I install this package on my N900, what will it give me?
Presumably, the option to boot either in Maemo or Ubuntu?
If I choose to boot in Ubuntu, I presume that the cellphone capabilities will not work in this mode. What about gps?
Probably somewhere in the thread but i'll ask anyway. Can you list the partition arrangement please?

Thanks in anticipation.
I suggest we really try to build a hwpack linaro style. There is a config for omap3 http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~rsalvet...s/linaro-omap3
This is the guide: https://wiki.linaro.org/HardwarePacks
It seems pretty straight forward. I'm not sure about the u-boot part in the config and 0x8 adresses so we should work this out together.
EDIT: Ok, I think I got the armhf package thing figured out. Have to test first but it looks good sofar.
