Hi, sorry I didn't notice that post.
We haven't discussed any formal approach to Jolla, but SD69 volunteered to establish official contact with them.
I think the best approach is that you simply forward us by email (council@maemo.org) the list of questions. We can discuss it internally, maybe clean it up a bit and send it to them.

I have already contacted with Jussi Hurmola, CEO at Jolla Ltd.
Let us review the document and we will forward the questions.
I might just start calling it jOS, some (most?) people might confuse it with some competitor, think it's the next hottest thing and that they'll be nothing without it and there you go, market share for the new player ;-)
+1 to kevloral, although I did say earlier in the thread that jolla isn't jewel in Spanish. As for the pronounciation, a Spanish speaker from Spain might disagree, but I do agree with you, kevloral.

@ivgalvez
As per my last response to you here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...76#post1243176
Can you please clarify how you intend to approach this.
Thank-you.

Fist we need to review the document, but probably we would just sent it as it is (or with very minor clean up) as "questions from the Maemo/Meego community".
IMHO JOS looks better than jOS. More robust, etc.But just calling it "Jolla" would do - no need for MaemoOS or MeeGoOS, etc.

In Finnish the word "jos" means "if" or "maybe". Don't know if it's good or bad, but I'm pretty confident it would be used in lot of jokes in case Jolla comes more mainstream.
"What are you going to call your OS? Please dear God don't call it MeeGo!"

jOS would be quite catchy. Certainly rolls of the tongue easier, may have to use it more myself in the future?
As for the confusion with another OS, J is one higher than i lol.
I wonder if any one has patented the Naming Constraints for a mobile/computing operating system that contains only 3 letters consisting of the first being lower case followed by the upper case OS acronym?
If they have not, then this would be an easy thing to copyright if you used Peugeot as Citation with their naming constraints. You would not have to even use it, as there would be so many people knocking at your door to buy it off you.
Anyways back on topic...
