Paoletto, can you enable the distance reading to 2 decimal places? I think to 1 decimal place is too rough and not much use for walking and jogging. Great app and keep it up!

I did a short running exercise last nigt with meeTrainer and Steps. GPS tracking and HR tracking were working perfectly No loss of data at all ! I keep getting GPS connection errors and heartrate signal errors with Sports Tracker all the time.

However, it would be nice to record max heartrate too. Also nice features would be workout type selection (walking, running, cycling etc...) and export workout to GPX format.

I still think Steps is pretty accurate, at least on my device. Have you considered adding Steps code yet?

Hei Zetor, thanks a lot for your feedback
so, currently im working on different minor bugreports and code rationalization, on adding charting functionality (so you can also see your max HR : ), and adding more HR chest belt support (checking how good the sports tracker one works atm). all this i plan to push out really soon (weekend maybe? i hope..)

After that, i will most likely follow the todo list you can see on the website, and step count is definitely one of the things
But i was thinking to first work to add maps functionalities and the limits.
But i believe steps will come soon too, together with a better gps filtering.
I have also an idea to get accurate altitude (if you noticed, the gps altitude is just terrible), but it seems a little bit a long shot. I will give it another try tho

by the way, why do you want GPX? some soft reads it, or you can upload it to sportstracker?

Wow! great features coming up

I was thinking GPX is kind of de facto standard for storing gps information. And yes, sportstracker service can import gpx files.

If I decided to make a sports database desktop app of my own, in vb.net, it might be easier to parse xml file than csv? I'm not sure...

Keep up the good work!

Sportstracker and Endomondo among others have gpx import and export. It would be very nice if meeTrainer could save workouts in gpx too

yes i was actually starting to look into gpx format. it shouldnt be hard to at least export.
And yes, i was also considering to import those, but for me it would be actually more valuable to decode sportstracker own binary format, coz N9 sportstracker does not export to anything, and if one wants to import his sportstracker exercises, then the only way is to decode the binary format..

What I hated about sportstracker is how it would add tens of miles to my "workout" making it always unreliable. Whatever miles it said I walked/biked it was always wrong and when I would look on the map it would got schizophrenic at what at first seemed like random places on the map but then I realized it could not understand that I just walked over a bridge that crosses the train tracks or cut through a parking lot. It would show these long straight 5 or six mile lines going off somewhere I never went and then come back at the other side of the bridge or parking lot. I don't need that crap so I uninstalled it.

I hope your app can do better and just give straight milage and not try to make sure I'm a good little boy and always walk and ride on the correct side of the street and stay on only known streets because that does not work especially for excercising.

The other thing I hated about sportstracker is there was no screen shot to facebook option so I can share on facebook that I'm not just procrastinating and I'm actually excercising so my friends and relatives won't go "mmm hmm yeah right we believe you" because I'm showing the proof.
In my opinion if there was a way at the end of your workout to post a map of your journey on facebook that's not a little tiny picture but maybe a medium sized picture and it had little picture icons on the map where you stopped to take a picture (maybe even a panorama) and your friends could click on a google street view version of your map and get led down your route and have the option to click on the picture you took at the places you took them that would be ideal but then you would have to stick to only known roads and paths.

There are hobbies and activities that incorporate excercise in them so eventually your app could cater to these crowds but would not be able to have a google street view option. Things like hiking, metal detecting, biologists in jungles, tourism and mall shopping. Yeah I'm not kidding mall shopping, who do you think is carrying all the bags and your gf or wife wants to bounce around like a pinball hitting every shop in the mall. Meetracker: add weight? Me: +5 pounds (5 minutes later at starbucks) +16 oz., 10 minutes later +10 pounds and on and on.
Meetracker: Sports mode, hobby mode, tourist mode, shopping assistant mode (enables wifi location)?

Adding gpx support and decoding the binary sounds good How tricky is the binary?
