I quickly took a glance at what apt-get would try to remove if you removed singond0, and the seemingly likely candidate for getting the applet back is (and this is a wild guess, using just the name of the package as a guide): rtcom-accounts-ui
So, perhaps someone with a missing IM applet can try
And see how that goes?Code:apt-get --reinstall install rtcom-accounts-ui

Dang (I presume you rebooted to see if perhaps restarting needed - or at least restard hildon-status-menu [and perhaps hildon-desktop {and fairly unlikely but worth a try hildon-home}]?). Well, you could try one-by-one reinstalling every package that is mentioned when you write:
...And just reboot after each one, see if it comes back at any moment...Code:apt-get -s remove signond0
