Yea the http://www.bluez.org/ website looks very promising. It would be nice if someone can compile the updated bluetooth stacks or adapt it for testing on the N9.
Also some nice info here http://www.politreco.com/

So bluetooth 4 may be coming :
The INdT is responsible for the
implementation for the BlueZ Bluetooth
4.0, Bluetooth protocol stack used in the
Linux operating system, also used in the
Nokia N9. The Low Energy Bluetooth for
the Nokia N9 is still in experimental stage. The study, begun in the second half
of 2010, is underway with the addition of
new features (Bluetooth Profiles).
Original article (dated 25/june/2012) : http://www.indt.org/projects/bluetooth-low-energy/
Quick update :
I e-mailed them and asked a clarification and their reply was :
we are not able to
open some information regarding to this
technology on Nokia devices, yet.
And I found that they edited the original post and removed anything related to the N9
before it was :O INdT é responsável pela implementação

segunda metade de 2010, está em
andamento com a adição de novas
funcionalidades (Bluetooth Profiles).
