Given that Intel is pretty deep with Samsung re Tizen, I don't think that's realistic...

This looks like microUSB-B to me. They'd better make it micro-A, to allow easy usage of host mode. Otherwise one will have to get non standard cables again...

Why? Intel is not losing anything - they should be interested in wider adoption of their chips.

Yeah, I had considered that, but Intel has moved increasingly further away from the project over the last yr or so.
They're not really "in deep" to anywhere near the extent that Samsung is...

"Visually" it does, & casting visual tricks aside, it was competitive in that respect compared to other makes/models of it's time.

Or at the very least 720p, if it turns out to be qHD I'll be a very sad Panda...
If it was on shelves NOW at qHD I could deal with that, but Dec+ at qHD is quite sad.
If they they can only afford qHD then FFS raise the price, I'd happily pay more for slightly improved core specs.

They already confirmed that their display will be 720p didn't they? I'm sure I read or watched that somewhere.
Still, it's pretty clear that the display & SoC isn't yet fully settled, so there's no point analysing the display(s) currently being used.

Sigh, cutting corners everywhere, FFS just make it pricier & don't skimp so much

In one of the interviews Marc just said it will be some kind of HD (if quarter HD counts as HD Dammit, just checked there is also nHD 'kind of HD' )

Since this device is a prototype its normal for it to have different specs than the final product. For 400 euros, im sure that they will put satisfying specs on the final product.

qHD (quarter of FHD) and nHD (ninth of FHD) are no 'kind of HD', they are fractions of HD.

This would be like saying 25 cents are 'kind of a dollar'.

I'll just say that -among other things- the "other half" idea is quite cool, similar (if not pretty much the same) as the M$'s Surface's feature of interchangeable covers for the tablet that can do different things, except that on a phone it is way more useful.

I quite liked M$'s idea back then, I like it even better on a phone that will run an OS that I like.

Now, patience....
